Elite Academy of Dance is Inverclyde's only dedicated Royal Academy of Dance School of Classical Ballet. If you have a passion or interest in Ballet Elite Academy of Dance is the place to go. Classes are run most weekdays and at weekends, and we have classes for all ages and abilities.
The continued success of Elite Academy has been down to owner Julie Gunn. Julie who was born and bred in Inverclyde and is passionate not only about Ballet but for her local community as well.
Julie is the only fully Trained Royal Academy of Dance teacher who lives in Inverclyde.
During the past 6 years Elite Academy of Dance has had 7 pupils who have gained places at Scottish Ballet Associate Scheme, 2 have gone on to the Dance School of Scotland and one who has gone into fulltime training at Ballet West and of course lots more who have had great fun while learning all about Classical Ballet.
So if your child is thinking about or showing an interest in Ballet, Elite Academy is the only Classical Ballet School in Greenock with a proven track record of success not only in placing students at higher levels, but with exam results and performance experience.
Elite Academy of Dance was founded by Julie Gunn in 2009 after Julie qualified as a Royal Academy of Dance teacher earlier that year. In 2010 Elite moved to its own Classical Ballet Studio in Watt Street Greenock.
At Elite Academy of Dance we don't just stop at Classical Ballet exams and classes, we offer a full performance experience for the more advanced Dancer with Alba Ballet.
Elite Academy of Dance is the starting point for anyone interested in Classical Ballet. Students follow the Royal Academy of Dance Syllabus which is used in all the famous Ballet Schools including the Royal Ballet in London. Pupils work towards Royal Academy of Dance exams and take part in our end of year performance. To keep dancers on their toes, Elite holds annual workshops in the studio with prominent ballet companies, including Scottish Ballet and Ballet West. Elite Academy deliver the most professional ballet standards possible to Inverclyde with the aim to provide people of all ages an understanding and knowledge of Classical Ballet technique, whilst having fun in safe and friendly environment. We want to encourage enjoyment and physical movement within a dance surrounding.
Elite Academy is not to be confused with other local dance companies who continue to try and offer Classical Ballet along with Jazz, Singing, or Acting Classes just as an add on.
